Happy Stand For Children Day…

Having spent nearly a decade advocating for underprivileged children who have been neglected and abused, I can’t stem off the pride and thankfulness that swell my heart when I hear about the good work people across our nation are doing to equalize the education playing field and help the underdogs access true avenues to success.  Thank you Stand.org for all you do to galvanize what is, perhaps, the most important movement in our country today.  For anyone interested in expanding her views on education movement in our country, this is a great book I read a few years back: Whatever It Takes.

The kids above aren’t underprivileged Americans.  But, it’s just such a great picture of togetherness I can’t help but think of it whenever I consider community activism.
